To identify this weed, young nutsedge is yellow or purple. Mature nutsedge gets a seed head and grows much faster than your turf fescue. The blade is triangular and has a distinctive mid-rib.
This ugly, aggressive little weed likes to create a network of roots making it difficult to kill. This weed can not be dug by hand.
But luckily there is a product that makes it easy to control and kill the nutsedge. SedgeHammer effectively controls nutsedge because it is absorbed through the roots, shoots and foliage. It is also translocated through the plant’s vascular system to reach the rhizomes and tubers (nutlets).
This will not hurt your turf fescue grass and pets and people can return to grass once it dries.
